I was born in Cairo, Egypt and grew up between the West Bank and Gaza Strip of the Occupied Palestinian Territories, Egypt, and the USA.
In 2014, after living in the Shenandoah Valley for several years, I moved to Lancaster, PA where I now work as the Women’s Health Clinical Services Coordinator at a Federally Qualified Health Center. I am also a certified birth doula and attend labors of patients from our clinic (we mainly serve the local refugee population and families with a low income status) as they deliver at Women and Babies hospital.
I love binge watching the show Parks and Recreation, baking pies, visiting friends in Virginia, and perusing thrift stores. However, to really de-stress I usually go on a personal retreat, watch Kirsten Wiig SNL sketches, or sing along to Toto’s “Africa” at the top of my lungs…depending on how much time I have.
